Associate Professor Philip Townend is a highly experienced Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgeon. He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2007 and completed his internship and residency in Newcastle, NSW.

Following his FRACS in General Surgery (2017), he pursued specialised training in:
Hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) Surgery – Royal North Shore Hospital
Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery – Canberra Hospital (UGI Fellow)
ANZGOSA Fellowship – Specialising in Oesophagogastric & HPB Surgery at Bankstown/Liverpool Hospital
